This category relates to the narrow-gauge railway that was constructed between Port Augusta, South Australia and Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia between 1878 and 1929. Trains that ran on it included the renowned passenger train, The Ghan. The line closed in 1981, having been superseded by a new Tarcoola–Alice Springs link in what was to become the Adelaide–Darwin rail corridor.
