The Canterbury Society of Arts (CSA) was formed in 1880 to organise and promote fine arts in Canterbury. Their buildings, located on the corner of Durham and Armagh Streets and these days used by the courts, are registered by the NZHPT as Category I heritage structures, registration number 3107.
