The former Canterbury Public Library buildings, located on the corner of Cambridge Terrace and Hereford Street, have three separate heritage listings:
- 1900s and 1920s section (Category II; registration number 4910)
- 1870s section (Category I; registration number 297)
- Librarian's House (Category II; registration number 3704)
The buildings suffered damage in both the 2010 Canterbury and the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes.
