English: Cabrini Boulevard, formerly Northern Boulevard, is a street in the Washington Heights and Hudson Heights neighborhoods of Upper Manhattan, New York City. The boulevard begins at West 177th Street, where it runs for one block before being interrupted by the w:George Washington Bridge. It picks up at again at 179th Street, and runs until Margaret Corbin Circle at the main entrance to Fort Tryon Park north of West 190th Street. The street is one way northbound except for the block between West 181st and West 180th Streets, which is one way southbound.
In 1938, the boulevard was renamed for Francesca Maria Cabrini, the founder of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart. She was canonized in 1946, becoming the first American citizen to become a Roman Catholic saint. A shrine to Mother Cabrini is located on Cabrini Boulevard, near its northern end.
