Built in 1913–14, these twin American Craftsman-style three-story apartment buildings in Madison, Wisconsin, were designed by August Schwenn for W. L. and Anna M. Gillette (144–146 East Gorham Street; see the Property Record online) and C. E. Piper (148–150 East Gorham Street; see the Property Record online).

The buildings are clad in red brick with hipped roofs, triple-decker front porches with brick columns, decorative metal, brick, and wooden railings, stone headers and stone sills, three-story bay windows on the front facades, and hipped roof dormers.

The buildings are contributing structures in the Mansion Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.
