Burtons Coaches Ltd, trading simply as Burtons or Burtons Bus, was a bus & coach company based in Haverhill, Suffolk (near the border with Essex and Cambridgeshire), founded in 1948. It was named after its first premises, Burton End Garage - they moved to a depot site in Duddery Hill in 1971. Although small, its operations ranged from local buses to continental coaches, in a livery of cream and maroon (not to be confused with Burtons of Alfreton). In November 2003, the depot and its 42 vehicles were sold to Tellings-Golden Miller - the company remained separate, but adopted a new yellow star logo and Burtons fleetname (some with a Premier fleetname, acquired in 1998), applied on the TGM base livery of white, yellow & blue. From 2004, the company also had operational control of the TGM 35 vehicle 'Network Colchester' bus operation. In 2007, Arriva purchased TGM, although the livery was unchanged. In February 2010, a management buyout purchased the business (minus Network Colchester) using the company Yellow Star Travel Services Ltd, retaining the Burtons fleetname and livery. In 2011, YSTS folded, with the depot and the majority of local bus services being taken over by Stephensons of Essex.
