This category is for the Bugatti "Brescia" series competition cars. "Brescia" was an informal but inofficial designation for the small 8 valve and 16 valve, 4 cylinder voiturettes. Usually, Typ 13 and later Type 22/23 cars on the shortest (2000mm ) chassis competed in the voiturette class. Initially, "Brescia" meant the 16 valve, racing equipped Type 13s that took places 1-4 in the Voiturette race at Brescia in 1921, of which Bugatti sold replicas and later the refined Type 23 "Brescia Modifiée". Racing tuned 16 valve engines often came with twin spark, dual magneto ignition, and special roller bearings for the crank shaft for higher revs.}}

 As these cars all looked very similar, and an exact designation often is lacking, a category containing all Type 13 and its derivatives in competition seems useful.
