English: D5681 entered service with British Railways in January 1961 and was numbered 31253 in the TOPS series from January 1974. In November 1983 it was fitted with electric train heating (ETH) and renumbered 31431 but the ETH was isolated in October 1990 when it was renumbered 31531. It was withdrawn in January 1995.
