English: D5575 entered service with British Railways in December 1959. It was renumbered into the TOPS series as 31157 in January 1974 but was fitted with electric train heating equipment (ETH) in January 1975 and renumbered 31424. From May 1990 until April 2001 the ETH was isolated so it was renumbered again as number 31524. It was withdrawn in May 1996.
