English: The British Guiana 1c magenta is a postage stamp issued in 1856 in British Guiana. Only one example is known to exist: That stamp has been clipped on the corners to become octagonal, has a validation signature and a postmark, and has broken the prior auction record for stamps multiple times. (There are similar-looking 4-cent versions from the same 1856 series, however. There are red 1-cent British Guiana stamps from other periods, but none as highly valued as this unique 1856 one.)
