English: Kent is in England, to the south east of London. Kent is rich in brick earth from alluvial, Wadhurst and Wealden clays with the correct proportion of kaolinite and illite. The deposits are in some places 450 m thick. Some bricks fire to a soft yellow colour which make yellow stock bricks. A characteristic of 19th century Kent brickwork was the banding of yellow and red bricks.
