English: The Black Horse Cavalry was a Virginia militia volunteer cavalry company organized in Fauquier County in 1859. In May 1861 it mustered into service of the C.S.A. It took part in the First Bull Run and in September 1861 joined the 4th Virginia Cavalry Regiment as the Company H. It served in all major battles to Appomattox Court House.
