The Bhuvadeshwar Mahadeva temple site contain the ruins of a large 14th-century Shiva temple mandapa and entrance in Kutch district and another 11th-century temple possibly of Shakti. The 14th-century Hindu temple was itself rebuilt from the ruins of an 11th-century Pataleshvar temple destroyed during an earlier invasion and plunder from the west. However, the rebuilt temple was destroyed again and thereafter abandoned. The original sanctum was missing when this site was systematically studied in the 19th-century. A new sanctum has been added.

The Bhuvadeshwar Mahadeva temple is notable for its dome over the pillared mandapa. The destruction has opened the structure, and it shows the ingenious method used with beams in the ceiling to transition from the square plan mandapa to octagon, then to hexadecagon and finally to a circle of the dome. This Bhuvad village site has been a source of some artwork now at the Kutch museum.
