English: The Bermuda was a four-masted steel-hulled barque built in 1893 by Russell & Co., Port Glasgow (yard No 326) for P. Denniston & Co., Glasgow. 1912 sold to A/S Nordhav (Carl Bech & Co.), Tvedestrand, Norway, and was renamed Nordhav. Captured and scuttled 1918 by the German submarine U-117, 125 miles ESE of Cape Henry on voyage from Buenos Aires to New York with linseed.
Dimensions: length × beam × depth = 280.2 × 44.7 × 22.7 ft (85.4 × 13.6 × 6.9 m). Tonnages: 2,846 GRT and 2,623 NRT. Rigged in "jubilee" fashion, i.e. with nothing above double top and topgallant sails.[1][2]
