English: The Benjamin Brown House at 258 Bank Street at the intersection of Tilley Street in New London, Connecticut, was built in 1833 in the Federal/Greek Revival style for Benjamin Brown, to be his home and office. Brown produced soap and candles. The house used the same materials (including granite quarried from behind the building), and is of the same mass and scale as the nearby U.S. Custom House. It house served as both the home and whaling office for Benjamin Brown. The Brown House is part of the Downtown New London Historic District.
