English: The Bellows Falls Tunnel, built for the Brattleboro line of Vermont Valley Railroad (now the Boston and Maine Railroad), runs under the buildings of Bridge Street and the east side of the Square in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The tunnel was excavated to drop its floor and increase its headroom in the 1970s and again in 2007, to allow taller trains to pass through it. The tunnel is part of the Bellows Falls Downtown Historic District. (Sources: [1], [2])
