Part of the Savernake Wood complex, this is an extensive and extended woodland. Part of the eastern tip is ancient woodland but mostly broadleaved, beech, oak etc. Just up the road from Chisbury wood the B road west from Great Bedwyn dissects the site. There are pull-in points for cars along the B road where access can be gained to the woods for extended walks.
