The Brooklyn Public Library's Pacific Branch at 25 4th Avenue at Pacific Street at the convergence of the Boerum Hill and Prospect Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York City was built in 1904, and was designed by Raymond Almirall - who also designed the Park Slope and Eastern Parkway branches - in the neo-Classical style. It was the first of the Carnegie Libraries to open in Brooklyn. The building was damaged during the construction of the BMT subway in 1914, and suffered water damage due to a fire in 1917. After another fire in 1973, the building was scheduled to be demolished, but was saved by community action. It re-opened in 1975.
