English: In May 2017, the Büssing brand name was revived for a special Büssing VIP-Edition coach designed by Philipp Cantau and Wilhelm Schmidt, managing directors of the Wolfenbüttel-based tour operator "Der Schmidt". Apparently based upon either the second or third generation of the MAN Lion's Coach (depending upon the choice of the purchaser), VIP-Editions have fewer seats, and more luxurious interiors than their MAN counterparts; MAN is the company that took over Büssing in 1971. Whereas Lion's Coaches are assembled by MAN subsidiary MANAŞ in Turkey, the Büssing VIP-Editions are assembled at an MAN facility in Plauen, Germany, which is otherwise used to manufacture special order projects.
