English: Austrian Embassy, Budapest. Since 1959 located at 16 Benczúr Street. About the building: built in 1883, extended in 1905. Part of the World Heritage Under WW2 used by International Red Cross. The secretary of the Swedish embassy, Raoul Wallenberg found refuge here from the National Socialists and the Arrow Cross in 1945. A memorial plaque was erected on the embassy building: "The Swedish diplomat, the savior of thousands of Hungarian Jews in January 1945 was taken from this house to the Soviet Union, where he was the victim of Stalinist terror.
