Attributed flag is the correct term in English vexillology for flags invented during the vexillological era (commenced c.1200-1215) but attributed to persons who lived in the pre-vexillological era, and used in accordance with vexillological usage. It should be distinguished from purely "imaginary flags" invented in the post-vexillological modern era for fictitious persons, for example characters in Hollywood movies, and not used in accordance with vexillological usage.
