Athabasca Landing is the northern end of a portage between the North Saskatchewan River, that eventually empties into the Nelson River, and thus Hudson's Bay -- and the Athabasca River, part of the Mackenzie River Basin, emptying into the Beaufort Sea, near Tuktoyuktuk.
