English: The Association of Licensed Automobile Manufacturers (ALAM) was an organization founded in 1903 by supporters of the Selden patent which covered hydrocarbon powered automobiles built, brought to, and sold in the USA. ALAM was for a brief period in the early 20th century a power in the automobile industry. This ended when Henry Ford won his appellation on court in 1911, claiming that his cars (and most of other manufacturers) did not infringe the Selden patent that was based on a car with a Brayton engine.
