English: Though no portrait of Aspasia is mentioned in ancient sources, a herm in the Vatican Museums, discovered in 1777 at Torre de Chiaroccia, is identified as depicting her by an inscription. It may have been copied from her grave. (Richter, Portraits of the Greeks vol. I, p.153)
