The Ardmore or Armore Islands are a semicircular archipelago off the south coast of Islay extending southwestward from Ardmore Point for about 11 miles to Rubha na Muir-Làin. The named islets include Sgeir a' Ghaidhil, Sgeir nam Bàn, Eilean Craobha, Eilean a' Chǜirn, Outram, Eilean Bhrìde, Ceann nan Sgeirean in an outer line and Plod Sgeirean, Eilean Mhic Mhaolmhoire, Garbh-sgeir Mhòr, and Garbh-sgeir Bheag in an inner line. In addition are dozens of unnamed islets and skerries. The final locations and numbers remain to be determined. The shallow waters within the semicircle are termed Ardmore Bay.
