Refers to an episcopal title in Ireland in the Catholic Church prior to the Reformation in Ireland. The See is named after the city of Armagh. Following the Reformation, there were parallel successions to the archiepiscopal title in the Roman Catholic Church and the established Protestant church – the Church of Ireland.
