House - Part of the Németváros (German Town) city part, that is a protected architectural ensemble. Note on 1913 and 1893 maps shows as Józsefváros (Joseph Town) insted Németváros. About German Town: located just west of the City Centre, in the Middle Age used for unknown purposes; in the 18th century here were vineyards, maize fields and watermelon gardens/platations; the street and plot structure can be dated to the beginning of the 19th century, this was an island with a bridge over the Saint John ditch connected to the city cente; a planned city part, the Jókai Street (ex Szarvas Street) is the east-west axis; - already at the time of theneighbourhood planning, the location of the church, which forms the center of the district, was designated in today's Apor Vilmos Square; - the houses at the Apor square built after the 1801 fire exept the House of Mary (ie. House with Mary niche statue), which is from the 18th century - 8 Apor Vilmos Square, Németváros (German Town) Gyula, Békés County, Hungary.
