Area of Birkenhead town centre next the entrance to Queensway Mersey Tunnel, bounded by Cross Street, Chester Street and 3 - 13 Market Street. So-called because at one time most if not all the shops were occupied by antique dealers, although that wasn't always the case. Most of the upper floors are now converted into flats.
