Days after the 11 September 2001 terrorists attack on America the Anti-Capitalist Anti-War Convergence would march through the streets of DC as it had each September and April in recent years. But as a result 11 September and while drawing an even larger crowd it would exhibit a more urgent feel.


After assembling at Upper Senate Park in proximity of the US Capitol the thousands would amrch thropugh the streets of WDC where along the way they and the police would have several incidents. In one such case Asssistnat Chief Gainer would accidently spary himself in the face with mace. On H Street in front of the now demolishedold Convention Center there scrimmages between the police and the demonstratiors.


Once at the IMF-WB complex along Pennsylvania Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets the riot-geared police would surround the area and block anyone from leaving for more than an hour.
