At least 4 stained glass windows exist in Chester Cathedral erected by or in memory of Frederick Anson, Dean of Chester Cathedral. One erected in his memory after his death by his friends (Chapter House, east window) and 3 erected by him to his own relatives: 1 to his wife Anne, 1 (by Wailes in south aisle of the choir) to St Catherine (Catherine Louisa Anson, died and buried at Southwell, March 28, 1832, aged 18, third daughter); St Thomas (Thomas Anson, Lieut. R.N., died and buried at Sudbury, March 17, 1845, aged 24, fourth son); St Mary (Mary Blomfield, wife of the Rev. G. B. Blomfield, Canon of Chester, died and buried at Stevenage, August 6, 1848, aged 38, 2nd daughter). Another also south aisle of the choir to George Edward Anson (d.1849), 2nd son, Keeper of H.M. Privy Purse; Treasurer of H.R.H. Prince Albert, and to the Prince of Wales (Earl of Chester), depicts Raising of Jairus’ Daughter—Raising of Lazarus—Raising the Widow’s Son—Entombment and Resurrection of our Lord—and, Our Lord appearing to Mary.
