Anjar is a history town east of Bhuj city in Kachchh district in western Gujarat. It is a part of a region that has many Indus Valley sites and one mentioned in Hindu epics. The limited archaeological studies near Anjar has yielded ruins and desecrated artwork from the 7th-century. The modern era Anjar town has several historic sites including the 10th-century Bhandeshvar Mahadev temple and the 19th-century Swaminarayan temple.
