Amelia Rosser, the Irish independence activist who was credited with being the first woman to talk unofficially on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, is shown in a February 1920 photograph. Rosser was born in Fairfax, Virginia and lived there most of her life. She achieved a degree of fame for her demonstration during the July 4, 1919 Independence Day parade where her car festooned in Irish independence regalia repeatedly entered the parade See https://www.flickr.com/photos/washington_area_spark/20546592411
