English: Amazon was a four-masted iron barque built in 1886 by Barclay Curle & Co. Glasgow, Yard No 342 for R. Hill & Co, Greenock. Dimensions were 286.7 × 42.5 × 24.1 ft (87.3 × 12.9 × 7.3 m) and tonnage 2062 GRT and 1998 NRT. Wrecked on Port Talbot beach after she had anchored during a gale in Mumbles Roads in 1908. 18 of her crew of 25 died.[1][2][3][4]
