La Marie-Annewas a steam road tractor built in 1879 by Amédée Bollée père in at least two examples. The second was called L'Elisabeth. These behemoths were larger evolutions of the La Mancelle, and were initially developed for the Société Métallurgique de l'Ariège. La Marie-Anne weighed in at 20 tons, developed 100 HP, and was able to haul freight of 100 tons. It was later shown to French army officials as a gun tractor, but found few interest. Then, L'Elisabeth was demonstrated in Prussia and Austria. This caused some stir in France, and Amédée Bollée got very bad headlines. Possibly, a few of these vehicles were built under licence at the Wöhlert lovomotive works in Berlin, as were some La Mancelles.
