The Allentown Dairy Company, 1021 Turner Street had its beginnings about 1911 when Claude M. T. Laudenslager began selling milk from his farm. In 1915 the dairy formally incorporated with a merger of several smaller dairies under the leadership of Anson Stein and Jefferson T. Good. In 1923, the Rainbow Dairy was purchased by the firm, which gave it a larger customer base. Laudenslager left the firm, and the Dairy was operated by his son in June, 1950. His son, however, passed unexpectedly in 1953, which eventually, led to its demise.

In the spring of 1956, the dairy was bought by Foremost Dairies of Philadelphia, which was operated by Claude Ladenslager, Sr. at the time. It was renamed "Allentown Foremost Dairy" after the purchase. Laudenslager, Sr. passed in November 1957, and the dairy was renamed as the Allentown Division of Foremost Dairy in 1960. The former Allentown Dairy and all of its real estate was sold in June, 1963 to Martin Century Farms. The property was subsequently closed and offered for sale in December 1963 and operations moved to newer facilities.

The former dairy offices and headquarters at 1019 Turner Street was built originally in the early 1870s by Samuel Ohl, and taken over by the dairy in 1915. After the dairy closed in 1963, it was used until 1972 by Smith & Peifly Auto Parts as a warehouse. By 1981 the structure had deteriorated extensively and was torn down in 1982 for a parking lot and loading dock. The former dairy storefront and operations and refrigerated distribution warehouse at 1021 Turner remained vacant for many years after the dairy's closure. It was purchased in 2014 for an LGBT cultural and support center, however it was established on Hamilton street and the dairy property remains vacant.
