English: Alexey Golub was a Soviet chemist who in 1961 attempted to defect to the West during a tour of Amsterdam. But his wife did not succeed in the same attempt, she was captured by personnel of the Soviet embassy with the ambassador P.Ponomarenko when they attacked the police office in Amsterdam airport, where she was interviewed. Five months later he returned to the Soviet Union, and was imprisoned for six years.

Не его жене это не удалось, она была захвачена сотрудниками советским посольством под руководством посла П.Пономаренко при их атаке на полицию аэропорта Амстердама, где ее опрашивали. Пять месяцев спустя он вернулся в СССР и был осужден на шесть лет лагерей.
