English: Alexander Gibbs (1832–1886) was the son of Isaac Alexander Gibbs who continued the stained glass work shop with his elder brother Charles Alexander Gibbs after the death of his father in 1851. In 1857, Alexander Gibbs founded his independent business in Bloomsbury, firming as Alexander Gibbs & Co while his elder brother remained at 148 Marylebone Road, London. (See DIA entry for the elder brother, and Martin Harrison, Victorian stained glass, p. 77).
