English: Albert Méricant, French Publisher and writer, born in 1868. Expanding between 1900 and 1914 in Paris, 1 rue du Pont de Lodi then 29 avenue de Châtillon. He was one of the first to publish detective and science fiction books at very low price (30 centimes). He published also famous writers as Jean Lorrain, Gustave Kahn, Willy, illustrated by designers as Manuel Orazi, Albert Robida, Charles Atamian, etc. By 1902, he developped a serie of novels with illustrations engraved after photos, sometimes made by Paul Nadar, and slightly erotic. His business closed in 1929.
