English: The Akai X-2000S was a combination reel-to-reel (18 cm spools), compact cassette, and 8-track deck. The horizontally-loading cassette mechanism is hidden behind a black door, just below the reel-to-reel head assembly. The 8-track slot is on the right side wall. The model was introduced in the very beginning of cassette period, hence the strange logo (probably made up to circumvent the more familiar trademarked Compact cassette).
