The Airport Drive-In Theater (1949-1956) was located at the Route 22 and Airport Road Exit; located about a mile north of Union Boulevard and just south of the ABE Airport.

The drive-in opened in 1949 in a then-undeveloped area. The Airport showed primarily second-run films at reduced rates. Had a full concession stand and children's play area. During its lifetime, because the screen was aligned towards the airport, the drive-in suffered from both airplanes taking off and landing over it, as well as the engine noise noise which was a distraction to the moviegoers.

The Drive-In was closed at the end of the 1956 season. In February 1957, part of the land with frontage on Schonersville Road was acquired by the Branch Motor Express Company as a tractor-trailer terminal. The remainder sat unused for many years, being used for parking of tractor trailers. All the buildings and screen were still there at that time, and even the projectors and sound amplifiers were in the booth.

Then about 1972 the closed drive-in was torn down after part of the land was acquired by the Pennsylvania DOT for the expansion of the Airport Road interchange with U.S. 22 Airport Road exit, which was redeveloped into a full cloverleaf interchange. Later during the 1970s and 1980s, Scottish Inn and Suites/Valley Plaza Shopping Center. were built on the site of the former drive-in. A road re-aliment with Airport Road being expanded took place and today Catasauqua road runs though the old drive-in property. The drive-in today is totally obliterated by new development.
