Ahmed Vefik Pasha (Turkish: Ahmet Vefik Paşa) was an Ottoman civil servant, diplomat, politician, and above all a man of letters; in many sources he is referred to as the founder of the Turkish theatre. There is a theater carrying his name in Bursa, where he was provincial governor between 1879-1882.
