The so-called Ahafo Mine is a gold mine in the traditional Sefwi area of the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. The mine is located south of Sunyani in the Sefwi Volcanic Belt. Since 2003, this mine is exploited by the Newmont Ghana Gold Limited, the Ghanaian branch of the US-American Newmont Mining Corporation, which overtook the mine from the Australian (exploitation license holder) Normandy Mining Limited.
