English: AN/TPQ-48 was the initial designation for the first version of the Lightweight Counter-Mortar Radar (LCMR), or LCMR (V)0 developed by SRCTec, a subsidiary of SRC. The Lightweight Counter-Mortar Radar (LCMR) is a designation for the target acquisition device that counters mortar, cannon and rocket (C-RAM) threats. AN/TPQ-48 (V)0 was developed for the US Special Operations Forces (SOF) to quickly detect primarily mortar fire and was deployable by parachute. A variation of AN/TPQ-48 (V)1, or LCMR (V)1, was adopted by the US Army with some overall improvements to the system. AN/TPQ-49 (V)2, or LCMR (V)2, while similar in appearance, incorporated new internal process of how the system works. AN/TPQ-50 (V)3, or LCMR (V)3, also known as Q-50, has an improved range of accuracy compared to LCMR (V)2 and older version, which all had it in the neighborhood of 100-meter point of location accuracy. The Q-50/(V)3 system has added flexibility in the ability to operate while mounted on a vehicle (not in motion).Radar Update
