The AI Mk. VIII was the world's first microwave-frequency airborne intercept radar. It was used on the Bristol Beaufighter and De Havilland Mosquito from about 1943 to the end of the war. This category also includes the Mk. VII, a prototype system rushed to service in 1942, which was essentially a less-developed version of the Mk. VIII.
