82.4 FM is a radio frequency, which is used by 5 FM broadcast radio stations in Japan. Currently, there are no other countries with any FM broadcast radio stations on this carrier frequency. VHF long-distance reception between countries around 8,000 km (5,000 mi) distant is only possible, if they are on opposite magnetic hemispheres, but Germany and Japan are on the same magnetic hemisphere. In Germany, frequencies near 82.4 MHz are currently used by the military and by professional mobile radio. So this frequency must be avoided by broadcast radio receivers in Germany.
