English: Białystok, 70/3 Kawaleryjska Street. Military building a staff. During the German occupation, a camp for Soviet prisoners was located here. In August 1944, the barracks were occupied by the Soviets. From the available documentation, it appears that the Department of Prisoners of War and Internees at the Front Rear Office of the 2nd Belorussian Front was placed in Wolkowysk in August 1944, and in September moved to Białystok, where it occupied the barracks on Kawaleryjska Street. It operated here until the January offensive in 1945. The prisoners were placed in barracks that had survived from the German POW camp. The capacity of the camp was set at 8,000 prisoners. After being emptied by the Soviets, the compount remained empty. In the autumn of 1947, individual KBW units began to be transferred there from Częstochowska Street.
