639 Hamilton Street's earliest known tenant was the Henry E Peters Drug Store, opened in 1994. The building itself at the top of its upper facade had a pharmacy pestle and mortar at its center crown. In 1928 Peters retired and the pharmacy was taken over by Edwin H. Young. Young retired in early 1942 and the pharmacy was closed. In 1944, Edwin E Otto opened a high-end women's clothing store in the building, and in 1959, he moved his business to the Waidelich Building (627-629 Hamilton). Jay's Apparel moved in shortly after Otto left in 1959 which operated for about a decade. In 1970 the building was purchased by by First National Bank, Torn down for expansion 1972 which opened in 1973. Torn down 2012 and redeveloped as part of City Center Two building, 2013
