English: 5341 Ballard Avenue NW is a non-contributing property in the Ballard Avenue Historic District), Ballard, Seattle, Washington. One of the street's few remaining freestanding frame buildings, it served for many years as a law office and is now (2017) an Italian restaurant (Fermo). According to https://web.archive.org/web/20150906144128/http://ballardhistory.org/walking%20tour_web.pdf, although this 1880s building is typical of the style of early Ballard, the building itself is a transplant and a hybrid, composed of two houses saved from demolition in Seattle's International District. Both houses were originally located at 701 & 703 South 7th Avenue, on the Southwest corner of S Lane Street, which has been occupied by the current building, now a Key Bank, since 1979. The cottages date to at least 1884, when the city directory for that year lists carpenter G.W. Merton and laborer H.G. Twitchell residing on that corner.
