English: A three story luxury hotel was built on this property, in 1897, named the Kormann House Hotel. Approximately 20 years later it was renamed the Canada House. It remained open until around the turn of the 20th century as the neighbourhood fell into disrepair. The property had been boarded up for the entire 21st century, until 2021, when developers recognizing that the construction of a new subway stop across the street would raise property values, and announced plans to preserve the facade, while building a 97 metre condominium with the facade, and those of three adjacent properties.
