English: The building located at 2040 S Street NW in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., was constructed in 1905 as a residence for Major Richard Dickinson Jewett. It was designed by architects and business partners Walter G. Peter and William J. Marsh. The building was later purchased by Marjorie Merriweather Post who donated it to the National Capital Area Council to use as their headquarters. It has served as offices for the Bauman Family Foundation since 1987. The building is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District.
